Therapy you can claim back

Every session comes with an itemised receipt, so you may be able to claim part of the cost back from your health insurer, and tax relief from Revenue where the sessions are for a qualifying child. Cover and eligibility vary.

Itemised receipts, automatically

A receipt after every session with your therapist’s CORU details, stored in your account with a year-end summary.

Private health insurance

Many VHI, Laya and Irish Life Health plans may reimburse part of the cost of sessions with CORU-registered therapists, but cover varies, so check your policy.

Tax relief

Revenue allows tax relief on speech and language therapy for a qualifying child, meaning a child under 18, or over 18 and in full-time education. Whether you can claim depends on your circumstances, so check with Revenue. We give you the yearly summary you will need.

Common Questions from Parents

Our goal is to get your child seen within days, not months. Once you sign up, you can browse available therapists and book a time that suits you.

Research suggests online speech therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person for most speech and language needs. For young children in particular, being at home in a familiar environment can support practice between sessions.

You book a CORU-registered therapist, pick a time, and meet by secure video from home. Sessions are interactive, and the therapist coaches you and your child through activities and practice between sessions. You just need a device with a camera and a stable connection.

Many therapists tell us children engage better than expected because they’re relaxed at home. For younger children, sessions focus on coaching you as the parent while your child plays naturally. For older children, therapists use interactive screen-based activities. If online isn’t the right fit for your child, your therapist will tell you.

A quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions. A laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone, and a stable broadband connection. Please avoid taking sessions in the car, in public spaces, or anywhere with background noise. Your therapist will let you know if there’s anything else specific to your child’s sessions.

Our therapists work with children from 18 months through to teenagers, as well as adults. The most common referrals are for children aged 2 to 7 with speech delays, unclear speech, or language difficulties.

Sessions from €65 depending on session length and therapist experience. You’ll see the exact price on each therapist’s profile before you book.

Your therapist will get to know your child and understand your concerns. They may carry out informal assessments and will talk you through what they’re observing. By the end, you’ll have a clear picture of next steps. There’s no pressure to commit to ongoing sessions.

Each therapist’s profile shows their specialisms, experience, and the age groups they work with. When you book, you’ll answer a few short questions about your child’s needs so we can match you with the right person. Not sure who to choose? Just send us a message and we’ll point you in the right direction.

You may be able to, in two ways. We provide an itemised receipt after every session that you can submit to your health insurer: many VHI, Laya and Irish Life Health plans may reimburse part of the cost of sessions with CORU-registered therapists, but cover varies, so check your policy. You may also be able to claim tax relief where the sessions are for a qualifying child, meaning a child under 18, or over 18 and in full-time education. Eligibility varies, so check with Revenue.

No. You can book directly without a GP referral, a letter, or any paperwork. If you have a previous assessment or referral, you can share it with your therapist, but it’s not required.

More than 48 hours before your session: free cancellation. Between 24 and 48 hours: 50% fee. Less than 24 hours or a no-show: charged in full. This protects your therapist’s time and keeps slots available for other families.
